As we move into the New Year, there are many things we all can do to be greener. If you are considering building a new home, it’s the perfect time to explore adding environmentally friendly features. Today’s energy efficient green-built construction will save you money in the long term all the while helping to preserve our planet for future generations.
Utility costs will continue to rise over time. A relatively small upgrade cost today to the HVAC system or insulation package can lead to sizeable savings in monthly utility costs over the life of the home. It will also save precious resources and lead to cleaner air for our children.
With energy efficiency, there are many options to consider and some items may be more cost efficient than others. When considering options keep in mind it is important to consider both the long and short term benefits versus the cost of the green item you are considering.
